Volunteering Opportunities

If you would like to try something new, gain experience of working with older people, or want to give something back to the local community, then you will find that volunteering for Age Concern New Forest is an enjoyable and rewarding way to achieve this.

You will be surprised at the many different ways you could help us!

Waterside Good Neighbours - could you spare one or two hours per week to volunteer and carry out small tasks such as shopping, taking clients for medical or hairdressing appointment, picking up prescriptions, dog walking and so on, as many of our clients can no longer drive or get out easily.  Travel expenses will be paid.  Please contact Dorothy Haden on 023 80843646 between 9 and 11 am Mon-Fri

Office and/or Information and Advice - can  you give us a few hours to help dealing with enquiries that come through our office in Dibden Purlieu? The work is varied and interesting.  We also require volunteers that can be trained to help clients complete benefit forms, deal with Blue Badge applications etc.

Trustees - Volunteers who have skills, especially a financial background to bring to our Management Committee and are responsible for the charity and ensure that it meets the needs of local older people.  This would involve approximately 6 hours per month

Befriending Service  - Volunteers visit an older person in their own home, on a regular basis to share interests and provide friendship and company

Please call the office on 02380841199 for further details, or if you prefer pop in to the office between 10 and 1 pm Monday to Friday
